Saturday 16th January 2016 will go down in the SPICE history books as a momentous day!
Our very own synchronised skating team, Absolutely SPICE were invited to perform an exhibition routine during the 2016 British Synchronised Skating championship that took place at the home of British ice skating, Nottingham Ice Arena.
The team skated a fantastic routine and the whole audience were on their feet, applauding! There were also some tears shed by SPICE parents and the audience at large! Our SPICE members showed just what can be achieved through practice and dedication. Despite having additional needs, our members skated their routine fantastically.
What could possibly top this?
Well after the awards ceremony was almost completed, there was a special announcement that the most entertaining programme of the day was being awarded to Absolutely SPICE!!
I think the accompanying photos say it all! Our SPICE skaters were delighted!!
SPICE would like to thank Chris Buchanan from NISA for allowing our team to take part, George Strachan, our synchro coach and Ryan Sowter, Head synchro coach at Slough.
What next for Absolutely SPICE? Well, watch this space!!
