On Friday 11th May 2018, a reception was held to celebrate the voluntary organisations and services who work in the Slough communities.
The Worshipful Mayor of Slough, Councillor Ishrat Shah arranged the reception which took place at the fantastic new sports facility, the Arbour Park Community Stadium.
Ricci and Jo Hodgson attended on behalf of all our SPICE volunteers past and present – without our volunteers who offer their services every week, SPICE would not be able to perform the core role of teaching children and young adults with additional needs to ice skate in a calm and caring environment.
We were delighted to attend and met many other voluntary organisations that do great work in the community such as Mandy Gunn who runs Special Voices http://specialvoices.co.uk a group that supports carers of children with additional needs.
There were so many other great organisations present and it made us reflect on our own fantastic volunteers, both on ice and off ice , who support SPICE with their time and abilities , making us what we are today.
