Many members of SPICE will remember the Lawton family who were a big part of SPICE for over a decade since 2010. Aaron and Elise both played hockey and Elise was also part of our first synchro skating team. Their mum Karen was a staunch supporter of SPICE for many years, and travelled to both synchro competitions and hockey tournaments to support her children.
Karen sadly lost her battle with cancer 2 years ago. Last Sunday we were visited by Aaron, Elise and their father Jed and they presented us with a cheque for £5000 which Karen had so very kindly left us in her will. She wanted to recognise the part that SPICE had paid in her children’s lives.
We are so very grateful for the donation, which will go towards supporting both our synchro and hockey programmes . We will all remember Karen whenever we take part in one of these activities in the future.
